Alfred Wegener

 Alfred Wegener is a German researcher, meteorologist and geophysicist who turned the world upside down through his theory of continental drift, he believed in his values ​​and principles to prove it .

His story is that he provided a hypothesis that the continents are moving, where Africa and South America look like puzzles, the fossil fauna and flora of each continent are the same, the Appalachians and the Scottish Highlands are the same too , some rock formations in the south of Africa are the same as in Brazil, it is as if the continents are drifting in an unknown way and it seems crazy to many scientists in his time, they didn't accept that at all and just gave him a job as a meteorology professor in Austria.

 Wegener stuck to his values and went to Greenland to continue his research, in 1914 while in the military hospital room he gathered his hypothesis and proposed that the whole of these continents was a superb great continent and in some unknown way it was divided and gave other small continents, he couldn't prove that, he didn't know how it happened, and since he's a meteorologist and not a geologist they ruled him out ,so they decided to make him officially insane.

Wegener believed and stuck in his hypothesis again and went to Greenland to prove it, suddenly in a blizzard he disappeared and his body was found the following spring by the side of the road where he was buried in ice until now, after decades of his death, research began to understand that there was a system of rifts under the oceans and scientists are beginning to understand what he was trying to prove , that couldn't be totally accepted till  the 1960s, they finally admit the plate tectonics theory .

 In fact Wegner was considered as a madman in his time, but now he is one of the great scientists of his time. Now most of geology fields and earth's sciences fields are based in his theory .
